About Emily Campbell

Principal Designer

Emily is a Pacific Northwest-based interior designer with a fashion-forward eye and an affinity for noticing nature’s rhythms and bringing them inside of the home.

She believes home should be more than just pretty in a picture–it’s a space that should ground you, tell your story, and make you feel like you can finally inhale and exhale fully.

Emily is a graduate of The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (Los Angeles) and an alumna of Heritage School of Interior Design. Beyond attending FIDM and HSID, she has developed her career with deep roots in design, trend forecasting, and digital media. Over the years, she has designed homes from the ground up, completed transformational renovations, and has consulted on numerous kitchen, bath, and furnishing projects.

When working with Emily, you don’t have to know exactly what you want. You just need to know how you want to feel in your space. Emily will help you take it from there.

FAQs

  • You’re in the right place! Whether you have been dreaming about this project for years and have a Pinterest board filled with inspiration or you simply know you need an update but have no ideas, we start with a quick 15 minute call to discuss your needs, my services, and determine if we are a good fit for working together. If the answer is Yes, the next step is our 1-2 hour in-person or virtual consultation. Book your 15 minute chat here.

  • The initial consultation is where the big dream begins to transform into reality. I will walk through your home with you in-person (or virtually, depending on your location) and we will discuss your needs and priorities for the space. My brain will be turning, my pen will be noting, and you will be taking nice long breaths knowing that this is all possible and you are supported! Within 48 hours of this consultation, you will receive a full design proposal from me including scope of work, proposed timelines, and costs.

  • During the initial free introductory call we will have an opportunity to discuss design fees. Once we determine that your project is a good fit for the services I am able to offer, we will then schedule your 90 minute on-site (or virtual if out of state) consultation which bills at a $420 flat fee.

  • Your Design Concept Package includes precedent images per room, all material and finish recommendations including samples for you to touch and feel, 3D renderings when applicable, and furniture layouts. 3 rounds of revisions are included in your package fee.

  • My favorite thing about working directly with clients is having an opportunity to interpret their vision of a beautiful home and finding the colors, textures, and materials to support that vision coming to life. I like to honor accessibility and usability in design while simultaneously making choices that will elevate the space. I have an affinity for bringing elements of the outdoors in–often choosing surfaces and pieces that have a hint of natural, organic, or artistically crafted character.

  • Absolutely! Depending on where you are located, we are able to shop together in person and/or I can shop for you locally or online. As your contracted designer, I will split my trade discounts with you for the duration of our contracted time working together.

  • If you are local to the Portland/Vancouver area I can make General Contractor recommendations for you.

  • After the final selections are made for your project, all design guidelines will be passed to your General Contractor including drawings, visuals, measurements, and product details and skus. I will also make a site visit to walk through the space and communicate directly with the General Contractor to ensure all directions are clearly relayed.

  • I will order and track your furniture, decorative lighting, and hardware. You or your General Contractor and their subs should be responsible for ordering the additional building materials including hard surfaces (ie. flooring, tile, slabs), plumbing, technical lighting, etc. Spreadsheets with all product details will be provided to you and your General Contractor in advance of placing orders.

  • I am available to be as involved (or uninvolved) as you want me to be during the construction phase. My time during construction is billed hourly.

  • You have full access to me and my services throughout your project! I am also a mother of two young boys, so my hours vary. I’m quick to reply and I am available for phone chats, emails, and texts pretty much any day of the week. I’m excited about you and I’m excited about your project! I understand that timing can be sensitive during the design process and will always get back to you with more information and answers as soon as I am able.

  • Invoices must be paid within 10 days of billing and can be paid by Zelle or personal check.

  • Yes! I am happy to host a virtual Zoom meeting to review designs and have project check-ins with you. I am also happy to travel to your project site for an additional fee.
